Check back to this page to find out whats going on with the car and what power its putting out.
Its true, I have given up on the project car. The main reason is because its been about 18 months since I have driven the car properly and I have just had enough of it. The block was only recently machined and after the block was machined they found some cracks in it.. So i was going to need a new block! Basically, fed up with the car and I am now seling everything seperatly! All the parts and the car. Take a look at the car parts for sale and get some QUALITY parts for cheaper then retail.. Most parts are brand new or basically brand new. I am very upset with all this but I think this was the right decision. The GTR just didnt want to get back on the road. November 4th 2006... Well I am a little dissapointed to say the least. I fitted the wheels this morning and they seriously dont look right on the front. The front guards on this GTR have been rolled and flared out a little making the guard very wide and the front wheels are only 8" wide. The tyres just dont fill out the wide guards as much as i thought they might and it looks like the wheel is pushed in. I tried using spacers but it just doesnt bring it out enough. So I now have the old wheels back on (above) and I am selling the Koya wheels I just bought for $1800. November 2nd 2006... Well last night I put a deposit on some phat 18" wheels. They are Koya mags, polished lip with black spokes. I think they will look super sexual on the car. Im going to fit the wheels this weekend. I will take some pics and post them up when they are on. I also have some further news on the motor rebuild. The new motor will be using Eagle rods, CP pistons. Also my new N1 oil pump has gone missing which is rather annoying. I have been told I should use a Tomei oil pump as even the N1 pumps can fail at over 300KW. November 1st 2006... Finally the rebuild on the motor has started! I was expecting to be driving the skyline by now, but at least its now started. I didnt realise how patient I actually was until now. I also advertised the car for sale last week in an "as is" condition. I had a few offers, but now that the rebuild has started I will keep the car. I wont say when I expect the car to be complete because I have no idea! October 22nd 2006... I called the mechanic with my motor a couple of days ago to find out whats been done on the rebuild. Since the motor is at a reputable mechanic I was suprised to hear they still havent started the rebuild! I have been very patient with all this up until now, so I have now got everything up for sale "as is". If I dont get a decent offer I will just continue with the rebuild. September 2006... So far no work has been carried out on my motor which I am a lttle annoyed about. But I am prepared to wait. They expect to have the motor built ready to go back into the car around mid October. July 2006... I have the shell of the GTR at home and have sent the motor to a very reputable engine builder and tuner on the Gold Coast. This time I plan to have bigger injectors (700cc) so the boost can be turned up to around 23PSI. January 2006... Finally the motor was rebuilt. I ran the engine in for 2000kms before I got it on the dyno in March. The motor spun a big end bearing while it was on the dyno because some stupid ass didnt build my motor properly! The clearance's were way to small. I have tried to get some sort of refund from the builder but no luck. When the bearing went the REV rods bent, R33 GTR crank has a small crack and the pistons were scored + scored bore stuffed bearings etc etc etc etc etc. All this gear was brand new. So this was a costly experience for me! For the record, with standard injectors the GTR got 370HP at all 4 on 17PSI. October 2005... The shit hit the fan. One of the turbos blew and bits of the turbine went up into the engine and seized it. When this happened the car was at about 3000rpm and I was at about 2PSI! I tried to accelerate but nothing happened. I then heard a ratteling noise comming from the motor then it just stalled. I knew straight away that it was a serious problem but stayed optimistic until I got the motor compression tested. Zero compression on cyclinder 4. August 2005... This is when I imported the car. I bought the car because it had some nice extras and I was told by the agent that it was running well. When it arrived it had a couple of minor problems like an air leak in the cooler piping. After this was fixed the car went very well.
